Location
Located in rue Charlot, one of the trendiest streets of the north part of Le Marais, still very Parisian on the lively rue de Bretagne (Enfants Rouges open air market, many food shops, 3 bakeries - sorry, now just 2 since the remarkable Cafe Charlot, open from 7 am to 2 am, replaced one of them in Nov 2007 - 2 chemists, Chinese and Italian traiteurs, sushi bars, cafes, wine shop, a specialised cheese shop, 2 shops dedicated just to chocolate (!), fresh fruits and vegetables shops, etc...), however also the home of some fashion creators and art galleries, as well as nearby rue de Poitou.
Close to rue de Turenne and bus line 96, which goes to many nice places in Paris (Place des Vosges, St Paul area, City Hall, Notre-Dame, Quartier Latin, Montparnasse, also now trendy and popular Oberkampf and Menilmontant areas)
Next metro stops are Filles du Calvaire, Temple and Republique, all located north of the flat. However the very central Hotel de Ville metro station is also not very far by foot, going down rue des Archives.
Going by foot, down rue de Turenne to Place des Vosges, or rue Vieille du Temple or rue des Archives to the Seine river, usually takes no more than 15 to 20 minutes
For every French man Charlot is the name of the role often played by Charlie Chaplin. In this case it is the name of a banker who financed several houses built in this street in the 17th century, and lived there himself.
Apartment
Located on the second floor with an elevator (a luxury in Le Marais). It is a comfortable 38 sqm one bedroom apartment, with high ceilings.
The bedroom offers a double bed - 160x190 cm - (actually made of two single beds - ech 80 x 190 cm - which can also be used separately) and a cupboard.
The living room offers a sofa that can be used as a single bed, if needed with another single bed which can be drawn from below at a different level.
The kitchen corner behind the bar of the living room is equipped with all the usual kitchen equipment : a sink, a small refrigerator, four electrical burners, a small dish-washer, a microwave oven, a kettle, a toaster, a coffee machine, etc...
The cupboard below the television includes the tableware (plates, bowls, spoons, forks, knives, glasses of different kinds, cups, etc...) and kitchenware (pans, kitchen knives, corkscrew, etc...). The large cupboard, between the entrance door and the television, includes hangers, an iron+iron table, a vacuum cleaner, clean linen and towels, replacement bulbs, duvets.
The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower nozzle, a wash-basin and a washing machine.
A special electrical heater helps drying the towels quickly.
The toilet is in the bathroom behind a wall.
Heating of the apartment is electrical (one electrical heater in each room) and very efficient.
Available now, preferably for long term rentals, possibly also short term .
All-in short term rates
For up to 2 persons , fall-winter low season all-in rates :
1 week (7 nights) : 700 € (average 100 € per night)
2 weeks (14 nights) : 1,260 euros (average about 90 € per night)
3 weeks (21 nights) : 1,785 euros ( average about 85 € per night )
30 nights : 2,400 euros ( average about 80 € per night )
60 nights : 4,500 euros ( average about 75 € per night )
For 3 or 4 persons an additional fee will be required, and would be part of the offer, based on the length of stay, made before you make a decision
All-in rates include rent, utilities, electricity, broker's fee, final cleaning fee, high speed access to Internet and associated limited international telephone and TV services, and share of taxe d'habitation
Refundable safety and key deposit :
1,000 euros or the equivalent in USD
+ 200 euros for the use of the phone line with possible calls beyond the perimeter of the subscribed services
Long term rates, including utilities
For 1 year or more : 1,450 euros per month
For 11 months : 1,480 € per month
For 9 or 10 months : 1,550 euros per month
For 6, 7 or 8 months : 1,630 euros per month
For 3, 4 or 5 months : 1,720 euros per month
Not included in the long term rates above :
- electricity (depends on monthly usage : approximately 60 euros per month for 1 person, 90 euros per month for 2 persons),
- telecommunications / international TV / unlimited high speed access to Internet : 35 euros per month - this flat rate includes telecommunications limited service. It would cost more if the renter uses the service beyond the limits of the flat rate service)
- renter's insurance premium (approximately 10 euros per month)
- taxes (about 75 euros per month)
- one time cleaning fee (50 euros)
- one time broker's fee payable upfront (example : for 6 months : 13% - excl. VAT - of base rent; declining rate for longer periods)
Refundable safety deposit :
Either 1 month of rent for a rental period of 3 to 6 months,
or 2 months of rent for a rental period of more than 6 months
Additional refundable deposit of 200 euros for the use of the phone line
